EF1, EF2, EF3

Type: Interneuron
Connectivity:
- In WormWiring: EF1m, EF2m, EF3m
- In Nemanode:
In Wormbase: EF1, EF2, EF3, EF4
Lineage: F.lvda or F.rvda, F.rvda or F.lvda,
U.lap or U.rap, U.rap or U.lap
Location: EF1-2: dorsorectal ganglion,
EF3-4: preanal ganglion
Description: Post-embryonically born male-specific interneurons. Anteriorly directed processes of EF1-3 neurons enter nerve ring. Development of EF neurons are one of the few examples of variability in the neuronal lineage of C. elegans, where EF4 is only formed in a fraction of adult males (Sulston et al., 1980; Tekieli et al., 2021).
