Description: Ring interneuron that sends a process from the dorsorectal ganglion along the ventral cord and into the nerve ring.

Function:

- It is suggested DVC may be a stretch receptor that functions in backward locomotion. Activation of DVC induces reversal through synapses onto AVA command interneurons and glutamatergic output from DVC is required for this backing (Ardiel and Rankin, 2015).
