PVR

Type: Interneuron
In MoW: PVR
Male Wiring Project:
PVR
In Wormbase: PVR
Lineage: C aappa
Location: Right lumbar ganglion
Description: The posteriorly directed process of PVR runs through the tail spike to nearly the end. This process may be a sensory dendrite.
Neurotransmitter/ Neuropeptide:
- Glutamate
(Pereira et al., 2015)
Innexin expression:
- INX-3
- INX-4 (aka CHE-7)
- INX-8
- INX-9
- INX-13
- UNC-9
(Altun et al., 2009)
Receptor expression:

Function:
- May function in modulation of pharyngeal pumping by the touch circuitry as it makes gap junctions to ALM and PLM neurons and synapses onto RIP (Chalfie et al.,1985; Albertson and Thomson, 1976)

PVR (C aappa) development in the embryo.
Dorsal view. Bottom is left side of the embryo. Spheres indicate individual nuclei. Black sphere: ancestors of PVR (since last PVR ancestor has not yet gone through its final division, the black sphere seen at the end of this movie is still C aapp); dark grey spheres: apoptotic cells; other cells follow the WA color code (after they acquire specific cell or tissue identities). 0 min is fertilization.
