Description: MI is a unipolar neuron which is located in the dorsal nerve cord, anterior to the pharyngeal nerve ring. Its process makes a

complete turn around the ring in a clockwise or counterclockwise fashion ending in dorsal cord. This neuron makes variable synapses that often have both nerve and muscle as the post synaptic cells (see connectivity diagram below) (Albertson and Thomson, 1976)
