ACh (Altun-Gultekin et al 2001). Express FMRFamide-like peptide, FLP-1 precursor (Nelson L.S. et al 1998). |
None | DESCRIPTION |
|
Ring Interneurons. AIAL and AIAR are located anteriorly to the excretory cell, at the ventral side of the terminal bulb of pharynx. They are seen very close to each other on the right and left sides of the A-P midline in lateral view. Functions: Unknown Receptor expression: Express glutamate receptor subunit, GLR-2 (Brockie P.J. et al 2001). |

IDENTIFICATION: The differential identification of AIAs includes SIAVs and SMBDs. In D-V view AIAL and AIAR are seen as two neurons right next to each other and quite close to the nerve ring. AIAs are cholinergic and express ttx-3. When necessary an antibody staining with anti-UNC-17 antibodies can help identify them unambiguously.
