Sensory neuron (Chemosensory, odorsensory, nociceptive) | AB alppppaad AB praaapaad |
Lateral ganglia in head | Express neuropeptide-like proteins, NLP-7, NLP-8 and NLP-10 (Nathoo A. et al 2001). Express the FMRFamide-related neuropeptide (FaRP), FLP-21 (Rogers C. et al, 2003). |
AMsh and AMso | DESCRIPTION |
|
Amphid neurons, dual ciliated sensory endings, project directly to ring, take up FITC. Functions: Mediate avoidance behavior from Cd2+ and Cu2+ (Sambongi Y. et al 1999). Involved in octanol avoidance (Troemel E.R. et al 1995). Mediate social feeding behavior when aversive food signal is present (de Bono M. et al 2002). Receptor expression: Express TRPV (mammalian capsaicin receptor-like channel) proteins OSM-9 (Colbert H.A. et al 1997), OCR-1 and OCR-2 (Tobin D.et al 2002, de Bono et al 2002). Express G protein-coupled serpentine receptors, SRE-1, SRO-1, SRB-6 (Troemel E. et al 1995). See DiI staining of ADL in D-V view; DiI staining of ADL in lat view. |
